The Vent Plug is designed to regulate the internal air pressure of your EFG (epoxy fiberglass) board when the board gets overheated. It is important to maintain the air pressure in order to prevent internal expansion which can result in delamination or "water logging".
The vent plug on our EFG board models from 2015 on are all self regulating but if the plug (located at the nose of your board) falls out or breaks somehow then you will need to replace it.
